It’s more than just local folks. It sends a bad message to the rest of the conference and definitely not a good look for the university. The visiting baseball teams deserve better. I am thankful that I have been able to watch every road conference baseball game. Unfortunately because of this P!$$ poor decision Troy fans can’t say the same.

How does the double header on Sunday affect streaming now?

Just curious? I know this doesn’t happen much, but lets just say one day in the fall there is a football game at the same time as a futbol (soccer) match, the womens counter to football. Do you think they’d ever televise the futbol over football in the name of Title IX?

And local folks not going also isn’t the point and has nothing to do with the conversation. More people unable to attend will watch baseball over softball. As an apparently die-hard softball fan, you may find that hard to believe but there are examples of men’s sports popularity being astronomically higher than women’s sports anywhere you want to look.

And I got those capacities via a google search of “Russo Park capacity” and “Lamson Park capacity”

    What are the correct numbers?

Edit: after checking those numbers via ragincajuns.com, they are exactly right.

    6,015 for Russo
    2,790 for Lamson
I support both sports with season tickets to both sports and donations to both sports. I enjoy both of them.

Originally, it was scheduled for softball on Friday and Saturday and Baseball on Sunday. Then it was decided BOTH would be streaming on Sunday, which raised two questions. Why the change, and why not televise all three for both teams.

Softball decided they wanted their game streamed so they hired Jumbo Sports to do their Sunday game. They had the money and they are paying for it.

It's roughly ten times the cost of producing it ourselves. Baseball isn't buying the other two games because they decided to charter trips to both Marshall and JMU.

And, while you may not like the answers, at least you have accurate information.

You can listen 96.5 KPEL-FM, the 96.5 app or the varsity sports app.
From what I'm reading in this post, the decision to broadcast the games this weekend was up to each coaching staff, softball and baseball, not Bryan Maggard (athletic department). Softball had the money in their budget to do so, baseball did not. If this is correct, those of you who have a problem with baseball not broadcasting, place any blame where it belongs.

The original plan (or at least thag stated the thread) was softball gets 2 and baseball gets 1. The coaching staff for softball decided to pay for 1 (Sunday). Baseball decided to pay for 0.

How did they recap Friday’s game just now showing highlights yet it didn’t stream on the +?
