Oh I get that. I was just stating that if it’s one or the other, it should always be the men’s sport.

Or in a case like this weekend, two days, at the very least it should have been softball one day and baseball the other.

And I’m taking NOTHING away from Cajuns softball. They are a great program and deserve all of the recognition they get. But 2 of the 3 days having softball and baseball just one is nonsense.

Baseball can pay like softball did and they could have all 3 days.

It reminds me of the App St series last year when I emailed their AD and told him how poor dunk they were for not streaming the baseball series. I feel for the Troy fans this week and I hope they are giving Doc an ear full on this p!$$ poor coverage of his baseball program.
Why should baseball take precedence? Softball has been consistently more successful over the years and, in my opinion, is more exciting to watch. And what's a "poor dunk"? Sounds like a bad basketball shot.

    That’s not the point.

Why do you think the Russo Park has a capacity of over 6,000 and Lamson Park a capacity of 2,800?

You then make sure you televise enough women’s games when there are no conflicts. Problem solved. See how easy that is? And I don’t have a Dr degree or claim to be an AD.

If I have to explain to you that you are one of the few that prefers women sports over men’s then it’s not worth discussing. Kinda like the NBA and the WNBA. There is a reason the NBA gets prime coverage.

Then you just made my point. If they have more folks then they should have more money to pay to get their games shown. Bottom line this conversation wouldn't be happening if all the local folks that are able to make games would just go to the game instead of watching on TV. Both of your capacity totals are off.

You’re moving the goal posts now. We aren’t talking about individual sports paying to have their games shown when they aren’t already on espn+. Kudos to softball for doing that tomorrow for the fans that want to watch.

And local folks not going also isn’t the point and has nothing to do with the conversation. More people unable to attend will watch baseball over softball. As an apparently die-hard softball fan, you may find that hard to believe but there are examples of men’s sports popularity being astronomically higher than women’s sports anywhere you want to look.

And I got those capacities via a google search of “Russo Park capacity” and “Lamson Park capacity”

    What are the correct numbers?

Edit: after checking those numbers via ragincajuns.com, they are exactly right.

    6,015 for Russo
    2,790 for Lamson

It’s more than just local folks. It sends a bad message to the rest of the conference and definitely not a good look for the university. The visiting baseball teams deserve better. I am thankful that I have been able to watch every road conference baseball game. Unfortunately because of this P!$$ poor decision Troy fans can’t say the same.

How does the double header on Sunday affect streaming now?

Just curious? I know this doesn’t happen much, but lets just say one day in the fall there is a football game at the same time as a futbol (soccer) match, the womens counter to football. Do you think they’d ever televise the futbol over football in the name of Title IX?

I support both sports with season tickets to both sports and donations to both sports. I enjoy both of them.
