RP3.... LOL. That guy is so full of himself, absolutely loves his own takes/jokes. His accent sounds like he is broadcasting live from Monroe. Honestly, can't believe he is still on the air.
Schultz is a professional. Doubt RP3 has enough qualifications to even run microphone cable for a guy like Schultz.
I will be glad to have local sports on again
From what I gather, Dave is going to go in and do what he did at Delta. And that's run the show. People forget, when Dave took the reigns at 103.7, they had no market share here. He ended up beating 1420 in ratings at least once that I know of and had Delta in serious consideration for getting the UL contract. Ultimately it was an assets game and Delta didn't have the power, but to me, that makes it all the more impressive. With this amount of support, who knows what he can do.
I'm just happy we'll have a guy in there asking questions and listening to the people. Never forget, Farmer indirectly had Dave suspended for asking questions about the Tigue funding debacle. He had my respect before then, but the cemented it. Dave was and hopefully will be again, a disrupter in this WAY too cozy media market.
Competition is always a good thing. Having someone local to go against the 103.7 FM afternoon guys may cause both products to improve. The current 1420 morning guys are not qualified to do the appropriate interviews with our players and coaches. I used to make a point to listen to Scott Prather's 7 AM interviews with the in season coaches and miss those interviews. Note Kevin Foote on 103.7 FM starts his 9 AM shows on Monday these days by interviewing Coach Deggs. Dave is qualified to perform those interviews and hopefully that becomes a staple of his shows. In season, the 3 PM slot may make it tough to do so as that is practice time. However, he could pre record some of those interviews. If he has the AD on or any RCAF guys on, 3 PM should be no problem. Hopefully, a regular segment with the AD is part of his show. Every week may be too frequent but bi-weekly should work.
