I like the idea of a white or green gator. Most of us agree it’s better than no spirit leader. What’s the next step in this process?
A. Administration response
B. Student, Alumni, RCAF members voting on it
C. Fund Raising for the custom
We could set up a Go Fund Me account. We have the support!!!
Let’s be honest most of the hate on social media is not from fans, but folks that would rather not see UL succeed. I believe we will succeed “together” despite them.
I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other when it comes to this discussion. But, those that think using an Albineaux Alligator as a mascot (when the schools colors are vermillion red and white) is racist, probably also think there are more than two genders!
Look, I’m not pro-alligator for this venture.
That said, I’d find someone other than Charles Freaking Sagona to represent the point.
Now…the lady below his comment you also showed who mentioned “600” comments, her family is BIG UL fans. Her dad even had a life-sized cardboard cutout of Coach Robe displayed in his home.
This is going to be a heated debate amongst Ragin Cajun faithful.
Soooo...now we are the Ragin Cajun Alligators???
Good question. Asked and answered, but to reiterate, NO.
A person is not renamed because of the pet he owns.
Ragin Cajuns are people within a certain environment, and while the environment affects the ambiance, it does not change who they are.
As history has already shown, the sideline spirit booster does not change the Ragin Cajuns. At no point did anyone call them the Ragin' Cajun Chickens.
This would be easy to have a company replicate...must be 6'6 and weigh 270...or at least have the costume make it look so...accordian is an empty shell or molded composite. Shorts optional, the hat stays....
