…..However the problem goes beyond the scoreboard name…..every time the Lafayette is mentioned, the separation aspect is gone….that is why all these schools do it….you think that recruiters call us Louisiana? Hell no, they always use Lafayette after Louisiana and sometimes just Lafayette……that is why the recruits keep saying the Lafayette as they hear it from all the state schools!

Part of this is a generational thing. The elders of this board who were around in ‘84 generally see this as an ongoing battle, perpetrated by the “me too u’s” of our state. This has been acknowledged as an issue.

The younger generation sees things faster and move on, assuming all is well and on to the next thing.

All is not well when parts of this state we are behind in the fight. We have to remain consistent and wear them down, much like a person with a comfort pet like, a wildebeest or llama. At some point it’s ok.

It would really help if the academic side would get on board and use UL or Louisiana…if it’s being reported from Lafayette, you don’t need a Mensa card to tell on where the university is located.

I don't know who you are referring to by "per UL officials" but they are wrong.

"Louisiana" is not illegal. "University of Louisiana" is illegal.

Y’all. Have y’all noticed Coastal Carolina now has branded themselves as “Coastal”. It’s on the ticker. It’s on their jerseys.

Any college athletics program can brand themselves however they want. It’s a brand.

Just like we have branded as “Louisiana”.
I am concerned though of the lack of “Louisiana” jerseys and uniforms lately however.

I do love the “Cajuns” unis but we need to wear “Louisiana” 50% of the time as well.

The USA (South Bama) apparel during that weekend series was damn cool. BB Jerseys simply said: The South. Of course everything in Bama is hinged on Bama, so whoever came up with "The South" - very smart.

We're gonna figure this out. Our Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns brand is one hell of a lot of letters to present perfectly clean. Great progress has been made. If it was easy, it'd be done.
