2-0 through one and a half.
We beat Marshall in every sport. Let’s keep it that way!
We still continue to make really stupid mistakes on the base paths
Can someone justify the decision to try and steal third base with one out? To me, a runner on second is as good as a runner on third. A single brings that guy home 80% of the time. Of course after Willis gets thrown out we hit a double....
Need to sweep this series
1st inning: bases loaded and pitcher struggling to throw strikes. Runner gets picked off at 1st by catcher to end the inning.
2nd inning: 1 out double, runner gets thrown out trying to steal 3rd base. Next batter hits a double to centerfield wall.
30 games in and Rocco still doesn’t have his timing down. Wonder what is up with him.
Left two runs on the base dang near. With our pitching that gonna hurt
Hammond has that cutter working early. Best he’s looked in a few weeks.

A runner on 3rd with one out scores about 50% of the time, and from 2nd base about 33% of the time. So you are 50% more likely to score from 3rd in that situation.
Now, not sure you attempt to get there via a steal, but definitely try to extend a double into a triple (if it makes sense) or go from 1st to 3rd on a single. That extra base is crucial with one out.
Great turnout by the Marshall faithful
