The university pays him $202k the rest is raised by RCAF.

So please tell me how it works. Tell me that those donated funds couldn’t be diverted into NIL deals instead of to Big Guppy?

The same businesses that donate to pay for Marlins salary could create an NIL collective and use that money there.

No ____ing ____! Man some of y’all choose to be obtuse.

Again, Marlin’s state provided salary is $202k the last time I looked. That is the only money that UL pays him. The rest are donated RCAF funds.

Take those funds out of RCAF and create a NIL collective from the major sponsors. Divide those funds and get lucrative NIL deals for players.

But here we go again with “We can’t do that here”.

I never said "We can't do that here", just reminding of those things that the NCAA selectively enforces against smaller programs. You know..... the rules. The RCAF is under the UL Foundation, it's not a separate entity to funnel payments to recruits.

………Just wondering what would happen at any school……a $million dollar NILer fails to make the grades academically…….an anti athletics prof fails to change the grade and the st-ATH is ruled ineligible….. A.) the grade is changed and the prof fired… B.) the prof gets 50k from the kid to change the grade and he does….. C.) The business funding the NIL pays the prof…. D.) the NCAA does or doesn’t investigate…. D.) A NY city DA brings charges!

It's funny. Everything that Doc A did while here, and everything Doc S has done while here in regards to athletics was to, above all else, make sure we don't pay players. Now, that very thing is the accepted norm.

So, we are sitting here with a funding model, UL controlled RCAF, that is as outdated as the horse and buggy.

How about we join the present day?

    Free the RCAF!

That's true. But that's why collectives are popping up. So that they can organize outside of the rules and have the funds on hand before recruits sign LOI.

It’s coming, Mark Few is nearing retirement.

Your right, we couldn’t fill the McCarthey Center with our average attendance…in 35 of the last 37 years since we moved to the dome (85-86 and 93-94). 29 years and counting.

Unless you "aim" for building a final four program, you will always end up with something far less.
