T&F: Louisiana Wins Three Events on Final Day in Texas

SAN MARCOS, Tx. – The Louisiana track and field team ended their Texas trip with a bang, winning three events and challenging some program records on the final day of the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas.

T&F crushing it so far this spring

Good to see the Track & Field program having what appears to be a resurgence. It's been tough sledding since about 1997/1998, at least team-wise.

Some good highlights mixed in the past 25 years...Men's SBC Outdoor Runner-UPs in '02 and Men's SBC Cross Country Champs in '04. Hopefully we'll see some really good consistently good team results.

They've definitely been making a mark thus far this Outdoor season.

For anything nearby, they have meets at NW State and LSU left on the schedule. Louisiana Classics was a couple weeks ago, and Outdoor SBC Championships are at Coastal this season.

I planned on coming out of retirement to throw in the Classics. But had some back issues.

I raced in the UL-hosted cross country meet back in 2008 or 2009. Ended up being the last hurrah!

Haha yeah I’m sure I wouldn’t be in peak form. But it would’ve been fun.
