VO, can you calculate an average RPI for both Diamond sports for each conference member? Maybe to track who has the best Diamond sports. I’m on my phone. I know Terrell just posted both softball and baseball.

Mean RPI for Baseball and Softball

    TxSt 69.5
    App 78

Thanks. Surprised that JMU and USA are that far down.

Safe to say that Glasco's scheduling gamble didn't work out?

Our RPI will have basically topped out from this point, right?

Have to expect the occasional loss to a lesser team that would counteract any boost we get from our previous SoS improving?

We still have some pretty good RPI matchups left on the schedule, check this out, currently the worst team we play has an RPI of 111, everyone else is sub 100.

    3 games vs APP (77)
    3 games vs JMU (111)
    1 game vs McNeese (49)
    3 games vs USA (69)
    1 game vs Baylor (25)
    1 game vs Texas A&M (24)
3 games vs Texas State (46)
    1 game vs SLU (60)
    3 games vs Troy (63)
    3 games vs Coastal (54)
1 game vs La Tech (59)
    3 games vs ULM (97)

The SBC is not hurting us as much as it has in the past. Most of these teams have really good RPI's and our OOC games are still strong. McNeese is helping allot. We need to make sure we at least split with Baylor/Texas A&M if not win both.

I think Glasco's scheduling gamble absolutely worked out..

The fact that the potential ceiling was much higher does not make the gamble a "not work out."

Also, some of those top tier teams we played had also been through the ringer early on. Their WL records could very well improve as they go through conference play, which boosts our OWP and the fact that they're big conference schools will boost the OOWP also.

Nice. Admittedly I don't follow too closely and assumed SBC would be a boat anchor as usual

What has more impact: win vs Baylor or loss in one game against JMU?

Anytime a coach puts a difficult non-conference schedule together, it speaks volumes.

It means they are thinking big picture, and I love it. Honestly wish basketball had scheduled similar. Especially given the conf.

With that said, basketball non-conference scheduling is extremely difficult when other schools know you have a team so that is not a knock on Marlin/staff.
