Not to mention the benefit of the doubt from their reputation and cachet. Their starting point in the rankings every higher is higher than nearly all other “mid-majors”

Basketball Budget #s Gonzaga $9.1 mm Louisiana $2.3 mm. Big difference, but not as astronomical as some would have you believe.
Oh it’s only FOUR TIMES UL’s. Naw, that’s not astronomical.

Kind of like comparing Quad 1's to Quad 4's!
    Not astronomical I dare say.

Not as astronomical as the $32 million mentioned.

I wonder how much of that $9.1 million is from their various NCAA appearances/runs?

Hasn’t won it all, been close. University went all in for decades. At some point, the rug will get pulled. Honestly cannot tell you if St Mary’s got better or the Zags slipped. DePaul, Belmont, and up and down Marquette comes to mind…all small private schools that had decent runs but for whatever reason, the commitment isn’t what it was.
I used to be a big Mark Few / Gonzaga fan; they were the David in a room of Goliaths.

But that ended when he was coach of the US National (not sure what exactly) team and Shaun Long was a member of the team. Shaun was the ONLY player to never see a moment of playing time in any game for him.

Not even when they were winning by 20 or losing by 20.

Mark Few zigged when he should of zagged, IMO. I am no longer a Zags fan.

The story goes that Shawn Long asked Mark Few a question at practice, and he thought Shawn didn't know the play. Shawn only played in one game, if I remember correctly, a forty-point blowout. Shawn has grown personally and professionally over the last couple of years. He is doing well and making money overseas.

I will never pull for Gonzaga, F'em.

Thanks for the correct spelling too! Sorry Shawn!

    I don't remember what I remember.

non d1 schools will never be quad 1 or 2...
