Absolutely not even close. That being said, their outside of conference schedule has quality programs on it, the majority of which are on the road. The takeaway is we aren't ever going to be Gonzaga, which is not a mid-major. But playing teams in Quad 1 and 2 on the road helps if you can pull off the occasional win.
No, it isn't. I'm inserting a quote from the article I read on NET rankings and how they are used by the NCAA. I'll also link the article if you want to read the entire thing.
"With the changes announced in May 2020, the NET will no longer use winning percentage, adjusted winning percentage and scoring margin. The change was made after the committee consulted with Google Cloud Professional Services, which worked with the NCAA to develop the original NET."

This is true to a certain extent; but if you schedule road games in the SEC or Big 12, you can be pretty sure they will be at least quad 2 games by the time you get there.
Basketball Budget #s Gonzaga $9.1 mm Louisiana $2.3 mm. Big difference, but not as astronomical as some would have you believe.
Mark Few has been with the Zags as a GA, then a 9 year assistant, then got the HC gig in 1999 thru today.
Hasn’t won it all, been close. University went all in for decades. At some point, the rug will get pulled. Honestly cannot tell you if St Mary’s got better or the Zags slipped. DePaul, Belmont, and up and down Marquette comes to mind…all small private schools that had decent runs but for whatever reason, the commitment isn’t what it was.
