Not sure about PR but not having to play the #1 or #3 seed helped.
ESPN announcers and Joe Linardi discussed this in the last ten minutes of the first half of the South Alabama game at the CD a week or so back. Some really need to watch it and save some brain cells from beating their heads against the proverbial brick wall.

1%? OK, let's give credit to shoes also. Wearing shoes has to account for at least 1%, right? I'm being a smartass of course. And I'm not saying it couldn't have contributed some to the success, but let's be real. If a trip to PR is what contributed to THAT much success, then we should take that trip every year and got to the dance every season. We're splitting hairs here.
