I thought Louisiana was a 12 vs Tennessee.
1982 No. 8 First round No. 9 Tennessee L 57–61
1983 No. 8 First round No. 9 Rutgers L 53–60
1992 No. 13 First round No. 4 Oklahoma W 87–83
1994 No. 11 First round No. 6 Marquette L 59–81
2000 No. 13 First round No. 4 Tennessee L 58–63
2004 No. 14 First round No. 3 NC State L 52–61
2005 No. 13 First round No. 4 Louisville L 62–68
2014 No. 14 First round No. 3 Creighton L 66–76
Thanks
Correct another misconception, in 82 and 83 was an 8-Seed the lowest seed, or were there 12 then?
12
Correct. I remember Pitino making comments about not only them being under seeded but also having to play us as he thought we deserved better than a 13. He gave us much respect and turned out to be correct. We gave them all they wanted and more. Just another coulda woulda shoulda in close tournament games. It’s time that we shake some schitt up around here. I’m with DaBoot. Sweet 16 let’s Geaux!!
A #13 seed probably our ceiling this year. Hope it happens.

So far, with 11 conferences decided, there are 5 champions with NET scores worse than the Cajuns. Assuming that at these levels seeding will be determined by NET score, we need 13 champions with NET scores worse than ours to secure a 13 seed [5 16th, 4 15th and 4 14th]. Right now there are 6 other auto-bids [America East, Big West, MEAC, Patriot, Southland and SWAC] guaranteed to have champions with worse NET than ours. That gives us 5 #16, 4 #15 and 2 #14, making us a lock for a 14th seed.
To get a 13th seed, we need upsets in at least two other conferences. Of the remaining conferences only two have only one team with a better NET than us, so keep your fingers crossed.
