Congratulations to our men’s basketball team for accomplishing a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The chemistry and selflessness of this team is probably the best I’ve seen since the early 2000’s, and each player knew his role and played it well.

Now, I know I’ve been a little more harsh on this coaching staff like others, but I got to say that Coach Marlin and his staff earned their stripes this season especially with the 4 new teams coming into the conference making it the best it has been in a very long time. So congrats to them as well.

With that said, what we saw this year needs to be THE standard. No more “we don’t have this or that.” No more “we can’t.” No more “it’s hard to (fill in the blank).” Now is the time to MAINTAIN. We have everything in place, and this team proved as such.

Now, let’s enjoy some March Madness and play bracket buster!

Personally I think this program can become a top 25 program year end and year out.

I try to think is there any really good top 25 mid-major program in the Deep South.

Except for maybe Duke if there is I can’t name one. We need to become like a Villanova or Gonzaga of the south.

Yes football drives the bus but I really think we can make a bigger name for ourselves in basketball.

It would be nice to enjoy the moment, but some just need to justify their discontent of the past in an inappropriate moment. After constant droning about Marlin and pushing an obvious agenda, got to bring up next year, blah, blah, blah.

Please, enjoy the moment. There’s plenty of time in a few weeks to get back on the change platform.

Yes, it can't be understated how different this league was this year with the new additions. The SBC rarely has any teams inside the top 100 in NET rankings and this year it had 4 with the Cajuns being one of those teams. While it would have been great to win the regular season title, those conference games with much improved teams helped shape this team into a championship team.

Was looking forward to a peaceful 2 weeks on RP, but here comes multiple people with the “With that said”, “We need to be like (insert private university name)” and I’m sure more to come and we’re roughly 12 hours post victory.
