UL Football Spring Football 2023:Vermilion 68, White 33

With spring football starting tomorrow and to my knowledge only 2 QB’s on the roster. Let's say Chandler or Zeon or God forbid both go down for any amount of time due to injury or medical issues, do we have any other QB’s on the roster to run spring practice? I am not familiar with any here now other than Ben who is out as we know. I am guessing if so it would be a walk on that isn’t really competing for the job or pushing for playing time right now.

There are several players that played QB in HS that could fill in to some degree if that happened. Hope not! BTW....we didn't have any blue jerseys for the QB's in the 70's. LOL!

So it would be a wasted spring for them and the position they are transitioning to. For instance LL2 played QB up until this year but he needs all the WR reps he can get.

"Wasted Spring" (If) is a knee jerk statement.

The Spring game alone would not be the determining factor.

Now then, if all they practiced this spring was an out of position, position you then would have a point.

If that's the case, roster should post tomorrow...

isnt spring practice allotment a certain number of days, not necessarily a time period, from for example march 7th to april 6th, as many schools have different dates, so if something dire were to happen,(not saying the above example is dire) couldnt the schedule be moved as long as total number of days stay the same?

Unless its something medically that would take you through the end of the semester to recover from. Like lets say Hunter Herring a year ago when he missed spring and much of the off season due to a sports hernia.

If Ben doesn’t make it back for the start of August practice that position is very thin. Went from crowded to thin over night.

Seth Lewis just said Chandler Fields, Zeon Chriss, and Ben Woldridge will be competing for the QB job this year. But Zeon was the only one at practice today because the other 2 are out for spring due to injury.

It was said on this site that he was going to be the starter for opening day. LOL

My hypothetical question wasn’t necessarily a hypothetical, didn’t want to say anything but since Seth did on the news at 6, QB will be interesting this spring. How do you get all the young receivers the reps they need with just one true QB on the roster for the spring?
