That’s what I’m saying, we aren’t firing on all cylinders yet. If we can just clean up the walks and have a guy or two step up, I think this is a 40 win team. That being said, it’s a small sample size (insert jokes here) and I’m giving my opinion on a message board so there’s that.

The pitching staff roles are still being worked out. We have depth, but some of these arms will have to earn their spots.

Good test this weekend. Campbell is off to 6-1 start, won 41 games last year, made the NCAA tournament and actually beat GA tech in opening round.

I haven't experienced an atmosphere at the tigue like we did this past weekend in years. Bravo to the team and thank you to those involved who made it happen! Geaux Cajuns!

…..Can somebody explain the success of Marshall and Ray along with any other of our pitchers…..did Marshall develope a slider or another type pitch?

Marshall was hurt last year and did not pitch. His slider has developed into something nasty. Tommy Ray has always had good stuff. That has never been his issue. Consistency throwing strikes has been his problem in the past. He seems to be getting some of those things figured out. He can be the “X” factor on this staff in my opinion.

The pitching we have faced is not the best, but we are doing what we should against mostly average arms, IMO. How about that absolute laser Brock hit to dead center? That was all muscle. Zambo and Stelly are dudes. Team speed is better than most.

The pitching staff has been getting good results despite all the walks. There is no way we have continued success walking the number of hitters we have thus far. Clean that up and we are in good shape. If we have a guy step
up into a true Friday night type of arm, we become dangerous. Marshall looks like a shutdown back end guy.

The defense has been solid. A couple of early season miscues but overall, they seem good.

Base running has been in true Deggs fashion…aggressive. This isn’t going anywhere. I can’t say I love getting picked off of first base twice a weekend but this style isn’t going anywhere.

It is still early, but I haven’t been this excited through 2 series in a long time.
Agree, the offense is looking similar, hope the consistency stays the same, however the pitching is not close. No Robichaux or Baranik type individuals out there.

Cody was just about a perfect Sunday starter too. He was 9-1.

Rocco is not gonna hit .238 which he is now

Will veillon will probably hit better than .238 which he is now.

If these guys get going watch out. Because the other guys are crushing it so far.
Taylor and Lejeune have been very good hitters at every level. They were both very good hitters in the fall. I expect the lights to come on for both here at this level at some point in time this season sooner rather than later.
