I've been as critical as anyone of the SBC over the past several years. Having said that, how does this conference not warrant at least two teams in the field of 68 this season?

They do
Yeah, they do.
I think your assessment is correct, Kyle.
The new additions have been solid all around but exceptional in basketball. Can’t wait to get to Pensacola and watch some great action.
NET says otherwise. And after the power conferences solidify their numbers after their conference tournaments, no way in heck the SBC gets 2 under any circumstances.

Seems like SBC and similar conferences would benefit from only having a 4 or 6 team tournament. 1 & 2 get a bye, protect the higher ranked teams.
Simple answer. Sbc do away with stupid tourney and send the regular conference championship. That would make Marlin work all season long as opposed to the last few..
Those 3 non D-1 wins also don't help us any. Seems like scheduling three crappy D1 schools instead of Loyola, Louisiana College and Centenary would be more beneficial. At least the NCAA would recognize those wins.
UNC may not make this dance, in that group of first 4 out....2 bids to the SBC ain't happening
TheSBC has teams that are good enough to warrant 2 teams in the field of 68 but decisions made far in advance of this season will limit the number to one.
Schedule.
I've said it for years, you could swap out an NBA champion, Player for player but with UL's and most SBC teams schedule the undefeated team would not rank high on RPI or whatever SOS metric they were using.
