I have no idea as to why he would make a bad call but I can assure you one thing he blew it last night. I was sitting on top of the bleachers all the way down the 3rd base line in the last loge box suite on the ball that Debo hit. The ball hit the top of the wall on the yellow and bounced straight up in the air 5 to 10 feet. If the ball hits anywhere else on the wall it bounces back into the field of play not straight up. The only way it could have possibly taken the trajectory it did was to hit directly on the top of the wall. The ground rules say the yellow on the top of the wall is a home run. The fact that the entire crew missed that says either one or 2 things they all absolutely suck or they all absolutely cheated. There is no gray area here. There is no way they all could have missed it when everyone else saw it.
Last year after I think the So Miss series and a cheated call cost us the series, Deggs said problem fixed because that crew won’t be back here again, and I don’t think they were the rest of the year. Wasn’t that the Broussard fellow on that crew also? Someone refresh my memory on what crew that was.
Observations:
1) Stepped on their necks. That was something to be excited about.
2) Tommy Ray has always had good stuff. Going back to the LSUA&M scrimmage two falls ago, you could see it. It was always going to be about consistency and compete. He showed it last night.
3) Think we sent 16 guys to the plate last night. Every one of them look like they can hit.
4) Base running much improved in Game 2.
As far as Ryan Broussard.. I have no idea how that guy gets on NCAA postseason crews. He's been an awful umpire going back to my little league years. He was a tyrant. All about him. And he most certainly takes things personally. Like others, I've been told he wanted to stick it to Robe every chance he got. Not sure if it carried over to Deggs, I just see a very bad umpire.
I hope we return the trip as well. Talked about that with someone last night. Only thing is, we'll have to bootleg our own hooch...
Only 1 issue from last night ... we used up all our runs
How after replay was that not called a homerun I just rewatched the game because I couldn’t make it last night
