Despite what some here might think, Ryan Broussard is a very good umpire. A bad umpire does not get put on the Conference staffs of multiple Conference's (including the SEC) and then selected to work end of the season Conference tournaments and NCAA Regional tournaments for the past 8-10 years if he were not a good umpire. Every official makes errors occasionally. Even good officials. The Cajuns are lucky that he is a local guy and can work a number of UL’s non-conference games.

He may be a good umpire but when it comes to home games at the tigue, calls slant away from the Cajuns and it’s not even close. There are some that say he had an ax to grind after his brother didn’t become the star everyone thought. I’ll buy that he just doesn’t want to be viewed as biased toward his hometown team. He has missed A LOT of calls at the tigue over the years and they rarely fall in the Cajuns favor.

I was expecting someone to crank up the pain train tonight. Saving it for the series clinching win? :-)

Its very early but it sure feels good the past two games. Honestly think the two teams we have played are ok, but not great. And im not trying to take anything away from the success of our ballclub. Who knows where they will end up in may, but its evident our club is showing flashes of what it can be. I said this last year and ill say it again…tommy ray can be the “x” factor on this staff. Hoping for much more success

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. But I would strongly disagree that any call he makes (good or bad) would have anything to do with a relative.

Lots of good baseball ahead... Sun Belt has a combined record of 42-15 right now. That's the best start I've seen, for the conference as a whole.

He sounds totally different and improved from last year. Much more comfortable, possibly too much, to your point. He could stand to dial it back a little bit but I’ve heard far worse on other school’s broadcasts

If Ryan is that good of an umpire then that would be good evidence he has a personal beef inside the confines of ML Tigue Moore field, because he has been horrible here over the years and the calls have gone obviously against the Cajuns.
