There are a lot of new arms and a lot to figure out and learn seeing them in live action. I’m hoping it gets sorted.
I agree with you and yes its just 1 weekend. But every single game matters in college baseball. And when you jump to a 5-0 lead on a sunday, you have got to break the other teams will to compete. We let them hang around and gave it to them. They didnt earn it

Batter’s interference is not a dead ball. That’s why the play continued, and they got the runner out on the play, so the interference wasn’t enforced and the batter wasn’t called out

One thing is for sure, if we give that many free passes going forward better teams will not miss the chance to take advantage.

For the most part this weekend we got the timely hit way more often than not as compared to the first half of last season. Sunday maybe not as good as the the first 2 days.
Pitching is all about location. We witnessed it all weekend in softball and baseball, I don't care how good your stuff is if you can't pitch effectively in the zone. You can occasionally get away with pitching and missing the target if you have elite stuff. But eventually it will catch up with you.

That is what upsets me the most. We were up 5-0, yes early, on Sunday looking to sweep. You gotta have that killer knockout approach there.

Thanks for telling us without actually telling us that you didn’t realize the quality of the opposing teams the softball team played.

The pitching this weekend was definitely concerning.

I wouldn’t rule out the fact that some of the guys were making their first D1 appearances, some others their first as Cajuns, and all of them their first of the season.

Hopefully that anxiety and nervousness dwindles as they make more appearances.

Also, looking back just one year, guys’ roles will likely change dramatically as the season goes on, and things will work themselves out as best they can.

Finally, while Rice may not be a very good team, even with some atrocious numbers on the pitching side, the team was able to win 2 of 3 in a road series.
