Michigan is not a good program. Earlier in the day, Derkowski, the pitcher that came in in relief and held the Cajuns scoreless in the 6th and 7th inning, pitched 4.1 innings against UCF. She gave up seven runs, six earned. UCF was able to hit her, for the most part the Cajuns were not. It's not so much Michigan won, it's that the Cajuns lost.
That’s a tough one to swallow. Aside from the 2 bombs, you gave up 5 unearned. If I remember right, there was a miscue at second when the second baseman started running to first as if to cover then had to jump back to her position for a ball hit relatively right at her. Not sure if that was an error, but that kept that nightmare inning going along with the other boots.
Just really sloppy in the field and puts a ton of pressure on the next 4 games.
Make that experience work for you and clean up the simple stuff. Can’t go 0fer.
