I, for one, think recruiting is on solid ground. We had 5 in-state de-commits...1 signed w/ LSU, 1 with Missouri, 2 with Tulane and 1 with Texas Tech; 2 Texas de-commits...1 signed with UTSA and 1 with Rice....so I think we are on good prospects.
All losing 5 in state recruits proves is this staff can’t hold onto recruits.
How many times are we going to go through this....some of these players, for whatever reason are not vetted by the various recruiting services...Most of that takes place between after a players Soph. or Jr. season. Coaches get the up close look at Jr. camps, Evaluate the player, etc. Some get offered then, others after a school does the entire vetting with coaches etc, visits, unofficial visits, showing up at HS to talk to a kid, etc. UL Coaches know how to evaluate talent, most posters on this board don't have a clue...would it be nice to see 3 Stars against each name, sure would be...Coaches have developed relationships with player and HS coach...RP posters, not so much...I'll go to war with the 27 we have signed...Have some faith...
Does the bookstore have D’Wayne lunch boxes available for purchase yet?
On3 composite rankings INCLUDES those 4. Composite rankings includes ESPN, 247, Rivals and on3. Some were not vetted as Soph/Jr by these 4 and NOT ranked as UL has no one affiliated....therefore ZERO political influence with any of these to make it happen.
All that's needed is just a few minutes of research to educate yourself.
On3 has drop down to compare UL rankings vs those 4 pre Sun Belt. Just a few minutes research.
IMO a follow up recruiting ranking needed. Some signed never actually show up. A true final ranking should be vetted with those actually on the fall roster. An example.....last year LTURd signed a very highly regarded RB from TX. Easily their #1 recruit and being highly ranked had a tangible impact on their team rankings. He never set foot on campus.....went Juco.
