Tonight was a big win. USM lost badly. It’s a 4 team race with 3 to go.

USM is 12-3
UL is 11-4
Marshall is 11-4
JMU is 10-5

We need to win out and get USM to get 1 more loss. We will then hold the tiebreaker over Marshall and JMU by virtue of beating them and we would have split with USM. My assumption is that out win by 14 compared to their win by 11 will be the difference.

Nice win for the Cajuns, needed that. A little bit concerning that for the 3rd game in a row we have a bad second half. With such a large lead at halftime in this one we could say that we just coasted in second half.

Not an uncommon thing. Get such a big lead at half, the other team is going to break into it a bit. Not to worry.

I would not want to face them in the tournament. They have a big man to neutralize Brown defensively, and they seem to be hitting their stride, as Riley’s teams typically do late in the year.

In other Sunbelt play, Georgia Southern had an 11 point lead in Huntington with 1:30 to play, but turned the ball over 5 times and got outscored 16-4, ultimately losing by 1.

Not really. ULM scored 18 points at half. There was no way they were going to play and shoot as poorly as they did. You have to expect them to make up ground and we knew we had a huge lead so we didn't need to do anything stupid. Don't get me wrong, I would have liked to have kept it in the 25 point range so we could get Richards and White some extra minutes but it doesn't surprise me that ULM ate into that huge lead.
