It was over the plate. These umps are awful. Alexa checks her swing and the home plate ump asks the 3rd base ump if a right handed batter went around. He said yes. Unbelievable.

I thought it was darn near close to being a strike where it hit her. The check swing was horrible. I was always taught as an umpire in a 2-3 man crew, you ARE allowed to appeal when the base umpire isn’t in ideal position, but as a base umpire, you NEVER call that unless it was 100% obvious. Anything remotely close and I’m saying no swing because I don’t have a great look.

And if you’re going to appeal that, you gotta ask the guy between 1st and 2nd, not the one down the line who’s staring at the batter’s back
