UL Softball Softball - Day 2

Everything appears to be on schedule. SFA up on LC 3-0 in the B4th.

Bundle up everyone for the DH. Gonna be chilly.

    The hits keep on coming.

Really wish Illinois had held up to their agreement to play in the Louisiana Classic. They are playing in the NFCA lead off classic.

What happened? Prettier date to the dance?

What happened you ask? UL beating them easily in their own backyard.

They see the name, not the RPI. Illinois KNOWS a beat down was coming, thought the better of it.

Didn’t they dip on us last year as well in some fashion? I thought that was the whole point of them coming to this tournament. To make up for it

We were supposed to have 2 games against them last year and if I remember, they ended up getting an opportunity to make up a missed conference game against Northwestern. So we only got one game out of them.

And yes, they were supposed to return the favor. Sucks that they backed out. We get let down like that a lot. Minnesota, Florida State.

That was what I was remembering. We played them once last year, but it was supposed to be twice. Thanks for filling in the gaps. Unfortunate that teams can just dodge us like that, but it is what it is. Taking that FSU game in Clearwater would be so sweet for those reasons

Poor weather and pushover competition. Bad combo

Man, I really wanted to watch basketball. Skipped it to watch softball. I’ll be out there with the kids tomorrow. Beautiful forecast.

The freshmen have been super impressive.

I told everybody who would listen, Allred is the real deal. She hit her first home run as a Cajun. She was ranked number 115 coming out of high school. Great job by the coaches to find her.

Victoria Valdez started out 5 for 5.

Sissy Vasquez hit the ball hard. Unfortunately, she hit it where defensive players were.

Mihyia Davis flashed her speed. But, the injury bug struck again. She got hit in the hand at the plate and broke a bone in her hand. She will be out for about 3 weeks. Sometimes it seems this team just can't catch a break.

Also, redshirt freshman pitcher, Tyler Oubre, struck out the side in the only inning she pitched.
