Make the Cajun Chicken the Official Mascot!

If we need a Human Mascot, it can only be the FCC, the Pepper, or Cajun Man.

Nothing else makes sense for us.

I prefer to call him a spirit leader or entertainer versus calling him a mascot.

The Chicken should be the mascot. A student should get a full scholarship for the mascot.

He/she should apprentice under the current guy. It’s a tradition and one we should foster.

Actually, for hot weather, it takes two persons and uniforms to make a mascot happen. At least at programs that are serious about a mascot.

And if you noticed, it involves the band/cheerleaders/dancers giving up some of their time.

No. No. A thousand times no about making the chicken the official mascot.

The man inside the suit is eligible for Medicare. And, it's the man inside the suit that makes things happen, not the suit itself. If you want the man inside the suit to die before his time, by all means have at it.

Yes, we need a mascot. And, no, I don't have the answer as to what is best.

But it doesn't need to be a chicken.

Whatever the mascot winds up being, it will be the man (or woman) inside the suit that will make it thrive or fail.

Oh, and we do NOT need a live mascot.

Whichever mascot we decide on, Russell being offered to train him/her would be nice. I’d even pass the torch for some of his skits.

That genie came out the bottle long ago, band, cheer and dance grew in notability due to athletics. Now, even in high school, it’s about me, not we. Good point.

Russell trains the first student. That student trains the next. You can't tell me on a campus full of coonasses we can't find one every couple years that can be a nut in a chicken suit for some free room and board?
