For me jury is still out on CMD and I’m not in favor of giving BB the HC job but I don’t see it as hypocrisy. CMD was hired when the program was in the top 25 back to back years and momentum was building. Basketball is mediocre at best. Two totally different situations in my opinion. One was a hire to keep us at the top of G5 football. The other would to be to resurrect excitement in a dead program.
I was strong in favor of CMD and I am even higher in favor of CBB.
I believe this is a perfect time to take a flyer on someone like CBB . . . someone who is young and full of ____ and vinegar . . . has been in basketball only all his life . . . loves the University of Louisiana . . . we really can’t get any lower than we are in MBB . . . has demonstrated he can put fans in the dome for HS tournament . . . we can get him on the cheap comparatively with incentives for success . . . trust me, this is 1000 times more doable than Blackham with virtually no risks . . .
Vic is very serious about BB . . . the other guy usually just copies things others post so not sure about him . . .
BB will be a winner wherever he chooses. We can get a man who has stated and demonstrated his goals are to make UL basketball relevant again. He’s already built a network of AAU coaches better than anyone else we hire.
CMD has already proven that he is capable of being a great head coach based on several criteria his detractors said he was weak in. Primarily recruiting of players and coaches.
Combination. Just sit back and watch.
AFA legacy coaches, ok as long as they produce. If CMD smells of Bustle in 3 years, time to start looking for a replacement. Same thing with BB, if he even gets a glance.
The excuses that abound for golf and WBB for our home boys, while other minor sports aren’t given half that rope. If not home boys, long gone.
CBM, I’m betting he has the goods.
Why does CMD apparently have an issue using the transfer portal to bring players in? It seems like, in today's college football world, you have to use the portal to some extent to be successful. I know we haven't lost as many impact players this year as last, but it's hard to always replace experience with freshmen.
