I absolutely hate where college sports is going, but it is now about paying players to be relevant. The football season this year taught us that.

Where and how do they get the money to pay the players? Hire Brad Boyd and he will fix all current issues besides playing in the Cajundome.

It will be tough. One idea would be to look for rich people who have athletic kids that are not getting P5 attention. Most of these parents have invested big bucks to give their kids every advantage. Give the kid a full scholarship, give the parent full access to the program and ask him to help bankroll a better roster. It could be messy, but money always comes with strings attached.

Probably, but it is now OK to run your program like SMU in the 80's. We have to find a way to pay players and not worry so much about where we play our home games.

Schools can’t buy players. They have to sign first then they can sign NIL deals. At least that’s the rules and how G5 teams must operate.

I know that. I mean if UL makes a offer, the kid signs, then UL pays. Where does that money come from?

I’ve seen the Brad Boyd comments a bunch of times and I can’t tell if people are trolling or if y’all really want him to coach the Cajuns.

I’m the opposite. I liked the CMD hire and hope he’s here forever. The Brad Boyd talk makes no sense to me right now. He’s not even currently on a college staff. Mike has been UL since he left high school. He’s the perfect guy to win here and stay here.

For me jury is still out on CMD and I’m not in favor of giving BB the HC job but I don’t see it as hypocrisy. CMD was hired when the program was in the top 25 back to back years and momentum was building. Basketball is mediocre at best. Two totally different situations in my opinion. One was a hire to keep us at the top of G5 football. The other would to be to resurrect excitement in a dead program.
