I was listening to Scott Prather interview WBB Coach Gary Brodhead this morning. In that discussion, Coach Brodhead mentioned that the JMU WOMEN's Basketball team took a charter flight to their game at USM. For those that are not aware, it is extremely rare for mid major men's teams to charter to basketball road games. That tells me that James Madison has financial resources that no other team in the league can match. Therefore, I expect them to consistently be at the top of the league in almost every sport going forward. We need every dollar available to be able to compete with them.

They have a 60-mill budget right now. Their budget was 70% subsidized per Virginia law it can only be 50% for fbs schools. Still, with a 20% hit, they will be the top SBC budget.

Without major changes to our business model, our outreach structure, our attitude towards greeks & students, fan engagement, our alumni relations, acceleration of our master plan and fundraising approach, we will not sniff the top half of the SBC in funding inside of 5 years.
