Except, it is a basketball arena and was one for decades. Nostalgia = people. Emotional connection = attendance. Small venue = atmosphere. Atmosphere = return customers.

It's not "madness" just because you can't understand these things.

I completely understand but renovating Blackham is a pipe dream. But continue rambling in the corner. I’m sure repeating the same arguments over & over make you feel good about yourself.

Sure. Let’s move all the funds from the Cajun Field renovation and dump it into a dump renovation. Or maybe pull money from the Robe locker room build.

The Convocation Center at GaSt cost $82M in todays money. Brand spanking new arena that fits the potential of the program.

Cajun’s basketball should have an arena of 6000-8000 seats. No more than 8k, period.

Agreed, the dome sucks all the energy out of a UL basketball game.

I went to the Evansville game a few years ago and the energy was amazing. I can only imagine back when the seats went all the way down to the court with the students on top of the opposing team, the home court advantage must have been crazy!

I'm on board with MAT's dream ad vision. Basketball should be played in an arena like Blackham. I'll remember to buy a couple tickets every now and again. I got you, bro!

I too was at that Evansville game and for the small crowd we had, the atmosphere was great. Just imagine if they dumped $15 million into that place!

Yeah there were 3500 people in there and it felt like 9k. That was a fun game. One guy for Evansville beat us single-handedly.

I was in your camp till we hosted McNeese in 2005, loaned them our practice uniforms and Blackham rocked like the Cajundome has never rocked.

I can tell you this. Admin has never had meetings to discuss going Indy. Within the the last couple of years, they HAVE had meetings to discuss renovating Blackham.
