The best basketball player I ever watched at UL. I was able to watch him in Blackham when I was a youngster and was amazed. I saw Bo Lamar a few times when I was very young and he was great too but not the all around player that Toney was.

I still remember watching live on TV his 46 point game against the Lakers. What a performance!

When I walked into the 74 summer orientation in the union ballroom the had a big screen on the wall with a projector showing basketball highlights with plenty of Bo. One was what looked like a one on three fast break where he seemed to do a 360 layup between two guys.

The same for me, I was too young to watch the Lamar Era before the death penalty. Toney has been the best player to wear the uniform since the reinstatement of the program.

I watched Bo from his sophomore to senior season. Those teams were loaded. It was spectacular. I got to see Tony in the Super Dome in a lost to Tennessee. He was great that night. That was a big big stage.

You are welcome. I was very young when he played for the cajuns. My dad took us to all the games, great memories. Got to see him once in the Summit against the Rockets in 84ish also.

Any truth to the rumor that the boudin sold in the Blackham back in those days came from Theroit’s grocery in NI?

I was in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I saw my momma, daddy and brother. At least that I remember.
