Doing the same. I know you didn't ask for it, but I'll share anyway.. You've obviously been around long enough to have perspective and your opinions are rooted in experience. We have our disagreements, but your posts have substance and we need as much of that as we can get around here. Cheers.

I don’t know if these things are still valid, but attendance and stadium size used to matter.

The East side was extended to create 31K an FBS requirement.

Another FBS requirement was 15K in attendance. That’s when the Tulane attendance was lampooned. They’d report tickets sold vs actual attendance.

Neither of these requirements seem to matter anymore.

Attendance by sold might have some effect on the bonds being sold for the projects. But that seems to be based on other things.

The conversation was always about announced attendance. Some were suggesting it was propaganda to announce tickets sold vs butts in seats. However everyone uses tickets this day and age. Vic even suggested, when he butted into our conversation, it would even affect recruiting and scheduling amongst other things if you use the tickets sold method of attendance counting, which is just factually incorrect.
    Dude, it's the opposite . . .

A larger number has increased intangible benefits in every single one of the categories which I listed. Some categories have more benefits than others, but no one, even you can dispute that having a larger number is not better than having a smaller number.

By the way, who are you to decide who should or shouldn't post in any discussion here on RP. I did not butt in, I provided valid analysis which it appears you are still too slow to understand . . .

You are 100% correct in this statement. BUT THE CROWD SIZE WAS NEVER THE TOPIC OF OUR CONVERSATION. Which proves my point you didn’t even know what you were commenting on. It doesn’t take a Mensa member to know that a crowd of 30k is better than a crowd of 15k. Why would that even be discussed.

Some were saying it is propaganda to report tickets sold as your crowd as opposed to actual butts in the seat. I say it’s best to report tickets sold because that’s how your peer institutions do it. If you report actual butts your crowd will look awfully small compared to theirs.

Thanks again for proven me right yet once again Bob. I am so glad I got that PM explaining this whole Bob thingy.

I said intangible benefits, you said name 1 and I named 7.

Because you don't understand how and why a larger number benefits in each of these 7 categories, it doesn't mean that such benefits are not there.

You are just a lost cause . . . like I recommended, if you can't process this, you should turn back in your USL diploma . . .

    I have been 100% consistent all along, you . . . well . . .

What is just the opposite you think 15k is better than 20k and 20k is better than 30k? That would be opposite of what I said. Now I’m convinced you do argue for the sake of argument.

Dude, you are probably a nice dude that I would enjoy drinking a beer with, but you suck on RP. Get out of the stoke mode and try and understand . . . Just quit and let's have a beer . . .

Yes that statement you have quoted was in reference to some schools just have IDs some give ticket with the Id. One guy suggested the NCAA should get involved and mandate one way or the other for students. Thats why I said they don’t give trophies for crowds. But I can assure you this the 7 things you listed counting butts in the seat or tickets sold wont make difference in most and that is what our discussion was about. AGAIN OUR DISCUSSION WAS NEVER ABOUT IS IT BETTER TO HAVE A BIG CROWD OR A LITTLE CROWD…..DUH.

For instance you listed recruiting. Sure your crowd size matters to a recruit. Rather you report tickets sold or butts in a seat as your attendance don’t matter to that recruit. Which is what our discussion was about.

You mention scheduling the opponents coming don’t decide to come or not based on your crowd size. There are lots of logistics and guarantees but crowd size isn’t one.

You said bowls, the sunbelt has a certain number of bowl tie ins, if you go 8-3 or 9-2 and have poor crowds they are not picking a team that is 6-6 or 7-5 because their crowds are better. That’s not how it works.

So yes. I stand by my statements. You obviously don’t know how this works.

Recruiting . . . the bigger the number our recruiters have to show to recruits the more impressive the atmosphere at games and thus bigger is better than smaller . . . Vic +1

Scheduling . . . goes both ways . . . opponents will want to come into a better atmosphere and people scheduling us at there place will want us to bring more rather than less fans . . . home attendance one way to evaluate what the other team can expect will travel . . . Vic +2

Bowls . . . Any bowl considering teams with a like record will take the one with greater attendance because they want all the attendance they can get at their bowl game . . .

    Vic +3 . . . Pappo 0

you don't know how to stop when you are behind . . . should have taken that beer . . .
As far as recruits go you just repeated me. Nice job. You know no recruit has never not come because we reported tickets sales and not buts in the seats. Which is what we were discussing.

Give me an example of a team that refused to come here or one that we refused to go to because of the crowd size? Until you got hard evidence. Big Poppa check mate.

On the bowl games not true. Cajuns and JMU have the same record the bowl is in New Orleans or mobile. JMU out draws Cajuns in the regular season. Cajuns are getting that bowl due to geography and history. Same scenario Cajuns and coastal. Cajuns have the better crowds during the regular season but the bowl is in Myrtle beach they give it Coastal. Lots of those decisions are made on geography and the fans ability to get there. Game set match. BP.

You continue to prove you know nothing about how any of this works. I think I’d rather the throw down you keep begging for than the beer.
