Invites to bowls . . .
Scheduling . . .
Recruiting . . .
Ticket sales . . .
Hiring . . .
Capital campaigns . . .
Game time atmosphere . . .
Vic be bringing it, ticket sales are more important for every one of those things except recruiting visits.
Strictly record and bowl slots available are what gets bowl invites. If the independence bowl put any stock into actual crowds they wouldn’t have invited us this year. When they came to Cajun field we had less than 8k. The rest of that is all BS. For instance a recruit don’t look at the reported attendance in the paper. They are standing on the side line and see and feel the atmosphere. Now that atmosphere does make a difference to the recruit not the number Maggard reports in the paper. Ole Vic is wrong again.
If bowls do look at attendance numbers then ticket sold are better to report than butts in the seat. More than likely that bowl will only send representatives to one game and has no clue what the crowd looked like at the other 5 home games. So ticket sales will make you look more appealing to them.
