Brown only scores 8 pts. The guards needed to step up and they did.
Brown was doubled and tripled at times. That left the lane open for the others.
That looked like a "Saturday night in the SBC" refereeing crew!

Clearly YOU don’t watch much college basketball. Almost nobody wears suits anymore. During the COVID NBA Bubble coaches stopped wearing suits, and the NCAA coaches followed their lead and ditched theirs too.

And because none of the coaches liked wearing suits to begin with, this was the excuse they needed to finally ditch them for good.

PS just for the record, the coach in the athletic clothes beat the hell out of the coach in the suit tonight.

Seriously? The majority of coaches stopped with the suits when Covid started. It’s actually an anomaly to see coaches in suits and ties now. But I get it, when people want the man to fail and there’s nothing to pizz and moan about after playing their most complete game of the year, you go to the only bullet you have in the chamber. Yes they did. On both ends for that matter. Cajuns won the game simply because they made outside shots in first half which spurred their defensive energy. That allowed a double figure lead which they maintained. Those were the same outside shots they were missing in the first half in the road games.

A little more to it than that Mike if you ask me. First off, we shot well from outside but its not like we torched the nets. We hit 1 more 3 than them and shot our average percentage from outside the arc. I think the big difference was our backcourt in particular played much more under control and limited turnovers as well as the stepped up play of Fulks. Honestly, he controlled that game, in particular in the second half when they really tried to start pressuring. They were loading up on Brown and it created driving lanes and he took advantage. We were much more balanced scoring wise across the board and I think that's the way we should try to play all the time.

JB still tries to force too much but there were times where we really moved the ball in the first half and we played with higher pace and looked good. In the end, we just have to be willing to defend like we did for an entire game while not getting lazy and fouling a lot which has been a problem.

Brown did force a couple times last night, but it was way down from previous games. Twice late in the game he tried to dribble against his man from the free throw line. Whether that was because Fulks was on the bench after going to the locker room or because it was late and he hadn’t cracked double digits yet I’m not sure. Hopefully he’s just as content with Ws as 20 point games. Has to be willing to let his teammates make the opponents pay for the double and triple teams.

...ICant imagine taking my grandson to a shooting clinic put on by some of our best shooters…..never have seen this style of release……hey but never thought I would see soccer style field goals….and maybe it is Mike Heberts birthday!
