Vic I got a few serious questions for you.
In 2023 the Cajuns are traveling to Minnesota in football do you honestly think Minnesota payed attention to our home attendance to see what kind of crowd we might bring when making that deal with Dr Maggard?
Last year we played at Fla St. Same question? They probably hope we return tickets so they can sell them to their own fans.
Both Fla St and Minnesota want a recognizable opponent, from a G5 conference that they can sell to their fans, to fill their stadium with their own fans. That we have become. They don’t really care what we draw IMO.
A few years back we scheduled a home and home with the University of Ohio out of the MAC. Do you think either the Cajuns or the Bobcats AD were overly concerned with the other schools home crowds are in hoping they’d have a good contingent travel from La to OH and vice versa? I have been gone to Cajun games for many years that kind of travel just doesn’t happen. Both of those schools are just hoping their own fans show up.
I see Dr Mag on a pretty regular basis I’ll have to ask him. How much schools look at our attendance when negotiating home and home G5 OOC games with him and the money P5 games as well. I’ll also ask how much he pays attention to their draw as well. I would guess very little.
Now when you talking about that one game a year against an in state FCS that could be a different story. My question then would be if the opposing teams home crowd is huge factor in scheduling shouldn’t we try to ditch Nichols, NWST, SLU, and schedule SU as much as possible? We haven’t played them in years and they bring the most by far.
I said it benefits in intangible ways . . . I never said that every game would move the needle in each intangible . . . take each intangible I identified and ask the question would it be better one Iota for our attendance number to be greater rather than lessor . . . and now you have the reason that virtually every school spends more money and jumps through more hoops to have the larger attendance figure rather then the smaller one . . . KK I know you understand that . . .
