This has been a trend in NCAA Basketball. Former players taking over HC jobs without prior CBB assistant experience.

One of the funny things I always get from Marlin sycophants is "Who are we going to get to replace him?!" Well, if the current coach is so indispensable, let's give Brad a shot. Make the contract University friendly until he shows he can win. Something like a 4 year deal, final year University option. Pay the salary equivalent to the lowest paid coach in the SBC and give what we've been spending on the current coach as an assistant pool. Surround him with seasoned coaches and recruiters, like Michigan did with Juwan Howard.

I'd support this. I also think this would heal a lot of what ails us from the social club stand point.
