In another thread, a few of you mentioned LaFonda's as a place where even though the food may not be that great, people still want to go there in droves. To their credit, LaFonda's has created itself as a place for the "in-crowd." In spite of the the food quality, the natural demand for people to want to be a part of that crowd creates the full parking lots there. Plus, the restaurant has been around for decades.
For our program, we just started to really consistently win just over a decade ago. We have talked about SELLING THE EVENT. We live here in Acadiana. This place is known for festivals, concerts, and just having a good time. We also have amenities like the mall, movie theaters, parks, and other venues of entertainment. The problem is that those amenities naturally raise standards for what our football games should be as an event because they are competitors which means Cajun Field has to naturally up its game to get people there rather than those other places on top of the reputation of "good times" we have here in Acadiana.
So I'll ask you(and takeout the results on the football field).......what competitive advantage does Cajun Field have over those other places previously mentioned and what gameday experience do you feel inside the gates of Cajun Field that gives you the vibe of a good time? And do you feel like you are getting your money's worth? If the answers to those questions are "none, none, and no/not really," then we have A LOT more to work on other than just winning football games.
