Now I'm going to make a statement & ask a question for the sake of discussion & it's gonna sound heartless. But now that Damar is coming out of the woods & is looking like he will recover, it's something that is going to have to be dealt with as a real possibility.
Right after this young man's incident, the talking heads couldn't wait to get on the air & try to out preach each other & proclaim how much more valuable Damar was than a stupid game & anyone who disagreed with that was cold heartless evil fool. But for the sake of argument at which point does the "game" still go on no matter what happens to the next Damar Hamlin?
This game had a major impact on possible playoff seeding & determining playoff position in the AFC. What would, or should be the outcome if this incident had occurred in the first, or 2nd quarter of a Super Bowl? Do you postpone the game, Cancel the game, or continue the game? Do you tell 80,000 fans who would have paid at least $10,000 per person for tickets, airlines & hotels to get stuffed, the game wasn't worth it? Do you tell sponsors who spend over 5 million dollars a minute for super bowl advertising that the player's feelings are more important than the revenue lost from not continuing the game? Or do you tell the players to suck it up butter cup? You're a professional athlete & as such you are extremely highly paid to perform under this type of circumstance?
That last paragraph speaks volumes. We can talk about data all day long. It’s misleading, because 99% of the people who were/are vaccinated aren’t putting the continued stressors on the body as collegiate/professional level athletes. That’s truly what needs to be looked at.
Just heard a report on the radio that doctors are communicating with Hamlin. He's still intubated, so the the first thing they said he wrote down was, "Who won the game?"
I can't wait to see his reaction when he finds out how much $$$$$$$$$$$$ is in his foundation, now!!!
After my bypass surgery, they went to extubate me and the panic/anxiety attack of the moment affects me to this day. They put me back under and told my wife to go home and come back later that day.
Mad props to the cat for being so composed he was able to do anything. And he was coming back from something way worse.
And now he gets to consciously hold somebody's hand.
Even madder props for taking that first step back.
It is confirmed . . .
