Create an environment for them to attend. I have been tailgating at UL since 92, #16 on Rhinehart even with first base at the Tigue. He has been tailgating at UL since he was in diapers. Most of the females in their graduating class attend Refineryville. These classmates are in sororities and introduce them to their sisters. Where would you go?

I would stay home and tailgate with my own fraternity brothers and the sorority girls from my own school, at the student tail gate that is set up in the practice fields, if I were a student at UL. That is what my son does and he appears to have a pretty good time doing so. Back in my school days we just pre gamed at the house on fraternity row and all walked over to game together. My son too has been tailgating since birth at UL also, hence his passion for the cajuns. You couldn’t pay him to go to BR on a day that the cajuns are at home.

Also, give me a Lafayette Lady over a Baton Rouge Broad any day of the week...

Most of the young ladies are from the Acadiana area. I do not support the purple and yellow team but they have something that attracts students from every other university in the state on a Saturday. Additionally, my son's group have access to a suite that is owned by one of Lafayette's largest employers.

Our fraternity tailgated at a spot near the blacktop road when I was in college and many years after until our alumni dropped the location. The greek system and student support isn't close to what it was in the early to mid 90s with an above average team. I can remember the student side was always somewhat full. That was when we would harass the opposing team from the front row. We still have around 75 season tickets from the late 80s when the university was offering 1/2 price packages.

I agree with many of the comments and feel the lack of importance of athletic success from Martin Hall. I don't have the answers, but they do not cater to the fans or the students at most athletic events. I have missed less games in 30 years than the casual fan attended during the CBN era.

Just curious, what happened to student escort tickets? Couldn't you purchase up to 5 tickets for $5 bucks back in the day?

Yes on the student escort tickets. Are they no longer available? Agree with you on your statements. Guys like us need to encourage our kids to continue to support the Cajuns as hard as Martin Hall makes it for them sometimes, so that we don't loose that entire generation of fandom.

I don't believe student escort tickets are still available. I agree completely, its not any easy task.

We may have already lost a generation as the ceiling has generally moved from around 30,000 to around 15,000 . . .
