LSU beat Arkansas at home tonight. Razorbacks were ranked. Tigers may be ranked if they ever win a true road game. Hard to do when you never play any. One of the things wrong with college basketball is teams like LSU not playing a true road game in all of their non conference action. Granted, their SEC money allows them to buy many non conference games. Still, I don't think that is good for the overall benefit of the sport.
Does anyone care what’s good for the sport. Not unless it’s good for themselves.
There can’t be two more differing views on the subject . . . Interesting . . .
We were picked to win the SBC this year. I would be willing to bet a 6 loss team is not who wins it so, therefore, that would define an unsuccessful season. I certainly think we can finish with 5 or 6 losses so I don't think this post is nearly as out of focus as the sweet sixteen one is.
You will not see Greg run point for one second this year. Coaches have said as much. At Texas, Kentrell Garnett played there for a couple of possessions. That does not mean they won't use Greg to help beat the press after the initial pass. That goes for several players on the team. You may see Greg at the 2 spot at times, but not point.
Our relationship with LSU is completely different than when Will Wade was at LSU. Matt McMahon and Coach Marlin get along very well. In fact they talk often about how each other's teams are progressing. McMahon was helped by having three guys transfer from Murray State as he was their coach last year. They are some of his top players.
