The administration has made game day a complete ___ show for a long time and it has nothing to do with Mike. App state has built their tradition with their guys, hiring former players and from within, it can work
Don't really care if Mike is a local guy. The fact is we hired a guy with limited experience to say the least after our most successful years in our history because the outgoing coach referred him. And the administration has stated a big reason for that hire was because we would avoid turnover from within and our coaching and support staff were gutted as well as losing a number of our best players.

Yes, as a program we've struggled to put people in the seats, or at least since Hud and that's no coaches fault necessarily and yes the administration has neutered the greek system which has directly affected student attendance and yes the administration has fumbled the gameday experience but the talk here is whether Des was worthy of the position and did we even look elsewhere. The fact that he is local makes no difference to me but the fact that he was a TE coach with no coordinator experience does concern me.

Yet we still were in position to win 10 games. But without the big hawgmollies up front we couldn’t impose our will on offense. That will be fixed mext season if we stay healthy.

9-3 regular season and back in the SBC championship game. Book it.
We were never in a position to win 10 games. Not even close. You and I argued this before the season. Even with McGowan and Burton here we were not going to be the same line we've had in the past and we certainly didn't have the talent in the backfield to keep up with previous ones and we were breaking in a new QB(s). The West has improved a lot and lets be honest, the breaks went our way last year and you have to expect a correction.

So why don’t y’all have some damn perspective. Appreciate that this season this was an extremely flawed team and should have ended with at least 8 wins. But they could have folded after ULM and they didn’t.

If this continues through the 2023 season you’ll hear me complain. I’m not happy, but I have optimism for next year.
    Martin Hall mentality

10 wins were in the bag, not sure what your definition of "in position" is.

He did, but he also got taken to the woodshed by Tulane in the bowl game season.

Juluke was "on Louisiana's payroll" that does not constitute "national search."

So he established in his time here that he was not what we wanted in a head coach . . .

Dan Lanning and the OC from UGA both had on site interviews .. staffers told me as much

We probably did not have the money tree to fund what it would have taken to get either of those or any of the candidates that those here are complaining about not getting.

The interview process identified the absolute best candidate we could acquire with $700,000 or so in hand and our great administrators succeeded in closing the deal . . . Try to enjoy the ride . . .

The timeline could squeeze in ...

Napier Florida announced on Nov. 28, Desormeaux Louisiana announcement on Dec. 5
Mario Cristobal Miami announcement on Dec 6
Dan Lanning Oregon announcement on Dec 11

I still don't think this administration has demonstrated the ability to move that fast.
