He has a point. Many people I know gave up their tickets and/or tailgating spots because of the rising cost of keeping them while the game experience has never really improved. You see it every week during the season here with the amount of griping that goes on about it. When the costs outweigh the experience certain people will choose to stay away.
You are right as there is room for growth but the question is how. Also, we're not just talking about attendance. You know how many UL alumni are in BR on gamedays just tailgating and watching from their spot? There are so many people who are alumni or didn't even go to UL that send there money and spend their time in BR. Its undeniable.
and once people make that decision, it’s hard to have it reversed . . . years of people making that decision even during winning years mount up and that is where we find ourselves today . . .
When you can't move the needle forward after a championship season, that's a problem...looking at you Maggard...
The population isn't static.
There are people knowledgeable about the game of football, and hungry for live action moving into Acadiana all the time.
UL doesn't have enough baskets for all the low hanging fruit. Right now the administration is content to let it fall to the ground and decay.
I guess Louisiana needs to start soliciting baskets as donations.
