I think this is an interesting take on games. If any player goes on an away game but doesn’t play, there should be a financial cost to either the player who did not want to play or possibly the coach who didn’t play said player.
Perhaps this can be expanded to the classroom. If either or student or professor doesn’t show up, could there be a need for financial reimbursement.
I’ve gotta talk to J Luke about this. The mind boggles. So glad this came up
Silliness over.
Since he started practicing, we played at UNO on a Saturday, at McNeese after the semester had ended, and at Texas after the semester ended. Games this weekend are in between semesters. No academic issues have arisen from this situation. In fact, as far as I know there are no academic casualties from the fall semester. As far as expenses go, there is something to be said for supporting your teammates and just to be acquainted with the game day process. In fact we are redshirting a guy that we take on all trips for those reasons. Also, in the unlikely event we have massive foul trouble for our inside guys before the season gets too far along, we may burn the redshirt. Expenses are minimal as each player has a roommate on trips.
My youngest lives in VA. Hope to make that a base for some visits to our new Belt mate games.
