I gave my answer many posts back. Everyone keeps talking about servers and restaurants. I am talking about fast food, non servers only.

148 posts about tipping at subway. I don’t leave ANY currency in a tip tray, box, can etc because some tight wad will think it’s their personal change purse. Seen it.

If I’m at subway (or any other sandwich place) still depends on the service and my finances at the time I’ll throw in an extra buck or two.

Need a penny, take a penny. Need more than a penny then get a job. LOL

The reason Subway (and others) secure their tip box or jar is there is always some low life that will take the whole thing.

So you are not being served by someone at Subway? You back there whipping that sandwich up yourself?

Don’t want to tip? Then don’t. Everyone of those screens I’ve seen at the counter has a no tip option.

I don’t eat there. If I did, I would if the service was good. Not as much as at a sit down, but a few bucks ain’t killing me and it might help them.

I do tip at similar places with similar service setups.

    Yes, now more than ever.

Since they were playing my requested song on the spot I tipped them 33-1/3

You have expanded your base to water down others reply.

A server just takes an order and walks it out.

A subway worker does the work of 5 fast food workers, in fact they do everthing every person in the restaurant does combined except walk it out.

Which is why you want to avoid rush hour.

I tend to look at this situation as one where people who are not the cause of a problem are pitted against one another to hash out the blame. If you can afford the extra $1 at the coffee/sandwich shop or arena, drop it in and move on. If you can't, you can't.
