why is a percent of the bill the standard. why is one deemed to have worked harder just because things cost more. If they brought one thing that cost $200 is that working harder than someone bringing many low cost things? the $200 one item is not as likely to spill as the many smaller items…. i.e. can someone say the ruth’s chris waiter works harder than the waffle house waiter?

If I gave 1/3 the amount on top of bill, I would only eat at Subway when I was almost broke.

I wouldn't have any money left for tips either.

Subway is expensive these days. A footlong with the drink, chips and tax will run you around $16

I never tip off of percentages. Always off of service quality.

so if a subway worker makes 12 and you tip them 2.40, do they now make 14.40 or are they now dropped down to tip wage status and make 2.13 + 2.40?

might not be “helping them” to tip them

    a. that wasnt the question
    b. is “a third of the bill” not also a percentage, i.e. 33 percent?

So somebody who supposedly always tips half the bill, maybe more but not less than a third has his panties in a knot bc subway added a tip line on the credit card receipt? Yeah I’m gonna call bs on that, sounds made up
