148 posts about tipping at subway. I don’t leave ANY currency in a tip tray, box, can etc because some tight wad will think it’s their personal change purse. Seen it.
The reason Subway (and others) secure their tip box or jar is there is always some low life that will take the whole thing.
This thread is played out. Move it to just Ragin, please.
So you are not being served by someone at Subway? You back there whipping that sandwich up yourself?
Don’t want to tip? Then don’t. Everyone of those screens I’ve seen at the counter has a no tip option.
I don’t eat there. If I did, I would if the service was good. Not as much as at a sit down, but a few bucks ain’t killing me and it might help them.
I do tip at similar places with similar service setups.
I tend to look at this situation as one where people who are not the cause of a problem are pitted against one another to hash out the blame. If you can afford the extra $1 at the coffee/sandwich shop or arena, drop it in and move on. If you can't, you can't.
I smell troll all over this thread, but who am I to impose my smell upon anyone else . . .
