Using your philosophy, why not have every Div I team in a bowl game at the end of the season so no one will be left out? Doesn't every NCAA football team deserve to participate at the end of the season in a bowl game? They went through all the practices like every other team. It's not fair they went 0-12, 1-11 and don't get to go to a bowl game. I think these teams should sue the NCAA for not allowing them to participate in a bowl game.

You were one of those kids that had your mommy fuss at the coach because you weren't good enough to play and you just sat on the bench, right? Probably not, because today, all kids have to play as to not hurt their feelings. Different generations. Wonder why our country is producing such weeny leaders.

If you are the elite, prove it. That is what the season should be for. Not just to receive a participation trophy. If that's what you want, then why play a 12 game season in the first place. Just let players sign up on a roster and give them a trophy for that. Season over.

You are 100% correct. Until a true playoff system is incorporated into Div. I football, there has never been a national champion yet. Every championship has been played with subjective picks....teams that are fan favorites or which ever teams will make the NCAA and Vegas the most money. So finally we agree on something.

If they use the same format as basketball, (which I don't believe they are), it will be exciting to see a #12 vs #1. There may not be any upsets in the first 2 or 3 years of the playoff system, but take my word on it, IT WILL HAPPEN. And much sooner than basketball.

So we played 8 bowl teams plus an FCS playoff team and some on here claim we played a very weak schedule? And the only bowl opponent to lose so far is Rice?
