it looks like no recruits are safe this year, every day you see recruits flipping and lots at major programs, the NIL money has to be brough under control or it is just going to turn into a full blown auction for players.

Jeff Taylor (UTSA Coach) calling out P5 for tampering with kids not in the portal. Coach Leger backed up him on twitter.

The recruiting game is forever changed. There is no way to enforce rules keeping these larger programs for recruiting G5 rosters. There is no structure. There is nothing in place that keeps anyone honest (relatively speaking).

It won't be very long that it won't really matter who coaches your team. It will only matter which teams have the most money to buy the best players. It's already that way at the very top of the food chain. But a bottom feeder will be able to quickly move toward the top if the money is there, regardless of who the Coach is. How would coaches feel if the schools would start cutting coaches salaries from 6-7-8 or 9 million a year down to about 1 or 2 million a year and start putting that saved money into NIL deals instead? The poo poo would hit the fan and then I bet you would hear many more screaming for change.

Any chance our coaches are still recruiting the same level of players they were in the past, only now they are only offering the ones they feel are truly commited to playing for the Cajuns? I mean think about it; if a player is really going to go with the team that offers him the "best deal", why continue to spend time and effort on him. This is part of developing the culture. Even doing so, players are still being swayed away by bigger programs and some probably always will be.

Recruiting is a tough game; NONE of us really know what is being done in the process.

Btw, Rivals has an updated SBC commit list and we're ranked #2 in conference. Means as much as it did when we were #6 in my opinion, but for those who follow the rankings, that was posted yesterday.
