I had seen the old fence listed as a safety concern by visiting teams. It also used to be no warning track, but that was resolved when they installed the turf field.

Yep. At the time, Lamson had the only field without a warning track in college softball. That's why players on other teams crashed into it. They couldn't find the warning track!
