The Loyola game does not impact NET while The SWAC team will hurt it. Despite all that, I am in favor of the move due to the importance of perception. May have a small impact on attendance as well.

When was the last time we were this excited to watch conference play? SBC could be very fun this year.

I just watched some of NW State (6-2) vs Ss Miss (8-0) replay on the +. That was a really good basketball game between two very good teams. NW got the W on a shot as the clock expired.

NWSt really had USM staggering most of the game. Much like the LSUNO game.

It's the part of basketball many can't forgive. On any given night, especially on the road, you can get beat by what one feels is a lesser opponent.

James Madison (7-2) is at #3 Virginia (7-0) tonight at 7 PM on the ACCN.

I believe that particular lesser opponent beat Texas Tech too.

JMU fighting but can’t get over the hump.

Down 2 with minute left UVA ball.

JMU had chances, UVA went cold from line. Dukes throw ball away under 10 seconds. 55-50 final.

    44--JMU
    65--ODU
    66--Marshall
    73--Louisiana

Also USM is predicted to finish 125.

The problem is still with the bottom of the conference. According to this the SBC will also have 3 schools with RPI's between 250-327. Those schools are:

    259--Arkansas State
    289--Georgia Southern
    327--ULM

There are 363 D1 basketball teams, so being in the top 75 teams basically puts you in the top 20% of all D1 basketball teams. That 44 could put JMU on the cusp of an at large bid. They won't get it, but it is good news for the conference as a whole. The bad news is 3 of the 4 of these teams are the new ones to the conference meaning the regulars are not doing anything to help the conference basketball perception.
Those are pretty big disparities from the current NET rankings.

And they staggered them as well; the Demons are some mean team this year!

Oops, thanks for the clarification. I knew it was a Texas team because I watched it. Oh, it just clicked; I also watched the latech team play the txtech team; that game was fairly close.

I know JMU was picked 3rd in the preseason poll but its theirs to win this year in the SBC. I've now seen them play a couple times, both against highly ranked teams and they are the real deal. They lead the nation in scoring, they are balanced scoring wise and deep. They also force over 20 turnovers per game. Too bad our game against them is up there or the Dome could be rocking for that matchup.
